The Provillus® Hair Regrowth Solution contains 5% Minoxidil, the only FDA-approved topical ingredient clinically proven to regrow hair in men and women. Minoxidil is a "potassium channel agonist." It contains the chemical structure of Nitric oxide (NO), a blood vessel dilator, and may be a nitric oxide agonist. This may explain Minoxidil's ability to stimulate hair growth and treat hair loss. Since Minoxidil is a nitric oxide related compound it was suspected to act via activation of Guanylate cyclase, an enzyme involved in vasodilation, however there are no reports of cGMP or PKG activation to date. Azelaic Acid 5% (pronounced az-uh-LAY-ic) is a simple molecule ( HOOC(CH2)7COOH, CAS Number 123-99-9, also known as 1,9-Nonanedioic acid) that is found in some whole grains and in trace amounts in human bodies. Although it is an acid, it is an extremely weak acid - much weaker than vinegar. A research report by Stamatiadis in 1988 suggested that azelaic acid was a strong type I 5-alpha reductase (5-AR) inhibitor.

We spent a lot of money on this product and followed the directions carefully. My husband bought it for me because he knew I didnt feel right about the cost.
It had no effect whatsoever. And watch out for the fine print. They say that if you dont continuously buy it and use it then the problems would come back, even if it works.
Dont waste your money like my husband did.

I purchased this kit, followed all the directions, finished the product, and got not good results. It irrated my scalp and made it itchy. I was very disappointed and feel like I really wasted my money.

Good product, hair doesn't fall that much as before. The product has my hair dry, I use it with a combination of hair oil which helps.

This is a good product but it is a little strong for me. At the first week, i did not feel any headache but after 10 days, i felt a bit headache after using it.However, these products work well.

My mother's hair was quite thin as a result of some of the medication she takes. While this sounded like a bizarre Mother's Day gift, I gave the Provillus to her as her Mother's Day gift. Well, there is definate new hair growth!
